Mekenzie Campbell

In May of 2021, Mekenzie graduated from the College of Saint Mary with a Bachelor of Arts in Paralegal Studies. She was the first student to participate in their 3+3 program. This program allows qualified students to start law school at Creighton University following their junior year of college. By the time she earned her Bachelor's degree, she had already successfully completed her first year of law school. She is currently working hard towards finishing her second year of law school.

Mekenzie started with Smart Gen Society in the summer of 2021, as our Legal Intern. Her internship was through Project Harmony, which encouraged students to specialize in the legal aspect of child advocacy. Project Harmony is a community-based organization that aims to protect and support children with the goal to put an end to child abuse and neglect. The first week of her internship was spent training. She was taught all the concepts involved in juvenile/family law, beginning when a child comes to Project Harmony following disclosure of abuse and/or neglect. Following this training, her internship was assigned to Smart Gen to help build our restorative justice program.

School and work consume most of her time but she still finds time to snuggle her orange tabby cat, Peanut while watching and rewatching their favorite Netflix shows together.
